It's is a fun format. 3 run groups, 3 sessions each, $150(there are coupons out there), no in car instructor, very relaxed atmosphere. Events are during the week in the evening. Car must be street legal(lights, wipers, etc), they run rain or shine.

White miata in the videos is a Tampa car, some may know him. It was fun, not my favorite track, but fun none the less. Car did well, got some good data, played with tire pressures, now need to make some alignment changes and a transmission change(too short of ratios). Running a race in Louisville in 2 weeks at the Corvette test track.

The PBIR facility appears to have changed significantly since I ran SCCA regional races there back in the mid '70s. P.L.(aka Paul) Newman was a frequent competitor back then.

Some have expressed concern with the self-certiifying, and the failure to get wave-bys.
I have photos of me racing my Fiat spyder there in the mid seventies.
Also remember "PL" when I was working pit crew for Cosentino at the run-offs Atlanta, they told us at registration to call him PL.

Brian, did you decide to keep the V8 car, or are you just giving it some pedigree?

I remember passing Cosentino's GTU RX-3 lap after lap on the oval in my GTO Monza only to be repassed by him each lap in the infield of the 1979 Daytona 24 Hours. "P.L." was driving a 935 with Brian Redman and Al and I both finished ahead of them after the Porsche dropped a valve.

Running it until a it sells. If it doesn't sell.....well that's a whole other rabbit hole. Pikes Peak maybe(after a power adder). Bucket list type stuff

I can see where the self certifying can go wrong. I signed up as an intermediate. When I arrived, there were 24 cars in intermediate and 6 in advanced. I told them what experience I had and they were fine with moving me to advance. I only remember seeing 2 other car(white miata and a blue bug from chump. The S2000 I only saw that one time I passed him). I think I'm pretty attentive and respectful of others. I tried to give the bug a point by moved and he wouldn't take it.

I didn't pay attention to how the other run groups were doing but I can see how there can be issues on such a short track with a large run group.
