www.SCCA.com is running a seven hour bracket enduro at sebring July 23 and 24.

three and half hours each day with another hour of test/tune.

$700 entry, no limit on number of drivers at no extra cost.

That is a PDX weekend for novice and advanced.

enduro has no liscense requirements, and will OK weekend membership.

Also enduro can be alternative Race Drivers School, required hours met.

Cars must be pruduction race cars meeting safety requirements, and SCCA log book is not required, with an on site inspection.

The way I read it, chump and Lemon cars will be OK.

Search SCCA web site for additional info, or just come on out for the PDX, registration for pdx will be open on DLB racing in a few days.

I do believe that you have to be signed off to run 'solo' with an organization

If you are a novice, that is the weekend to get yourself signed off with the SCCA. To do that, you need to sign up for the novice group on both days.

I'm pissed because I can't get that weekend off of work or I would be in the novice school for both days (if my car would hold together for both days!)

The PDX is a separate thing from the enduro.
Yes, there are novice groups planned for both days.
All PDX activity must be complete by 1:25 both days for the enduro to start.
Those who are seeking SCCA race liscense can substitute the enduro for drivers school hours.
Not part of PDX at all.
No race liscense is required for the enduro, which is being put on by National SCCA,.
CFR SCCA is not the sponser of the enduro.

Out of curiousity, is SCCA experimenting with the "crap can racing" concept here? Trying to tap into the LeMons/Chump market? (good idea if they are)

I looked at the information on the SCCA nat. website, www.scca.com Bracket enduro.
The only conclusion I can draw is what Loren is thinking.
They did not ask central florida region for permission as far as I can tell.
Same with "track night in America"
run anything, no instructors, no qualifications, no local regional help.
I think the PTB saw all the people rushing to all the other venues, and are trying to jump.

I think it's smart. SCCA traditionally does the opposite. "We're SCCA, we're going to do our own thing the way we've always done it."

I do find it curious that they're not involving the local region. That part seems really weird.

Well I may have overstated the CFR part, I did not attend the last district meeting in clearwater because of my eye surgery.
The situation may have been discussed then.
CFR workers will work the enduro.
But not "track nite in America"
That is all about the nat. office of "experimental trying things"
