ok so we would need to get together to put this together. I am all the way in New Port Richey. Last one for through TBM was a Hillsborough County event. I was thinking more of a Summer/Beach theme so Clearwater to Ft. Desoto would be a good bet. Basically would need a few people that can dedicate a Saturday and then we can set a route for it and a few weekends after we can have the event.

Just a suggestion: "Get out of town."

CLW to Ft. DeSoto is going to be all slow, congested and urban. Might be good for a scavenger hunt, but the "drive" aspect of it won't be that great.

Maybe head North from CLW instead? At least hit some less-congested areas. You could run up Alt 19 and along some roads up that way that are somewhat fun. Ask Ron Rice for suggestions, he knows that area.

I was thinking of doing the same type of thing

a) make it real early say 8 am start stay out of the worst heat
b) finish at a beach park... say Howard Park Tarpon Springs
Has lots of shade / shelters / primitive BBQs
c) BBQ lunch and swimming

can store drinks etc at my house 1.5 miles away until needed.

start location : Tampa Downs
Finish : Howard park
Dive can include some goodish roads
Patterson
Hill top (NPR)
Baillies Bluff rd
Anclote Rd

I am willing to help organize the BBQ side
would rather have someone else do the organizing of scavenger part so we can participate in that

I say we start at Heinz's house and finish at Ft. DeSoto and make this an over night Scavenger Hunt with camping at Ft. Desoto. Here is the deal though. Pinellas county resident's get first dibs on camping spots at Ft. Desoto Camping. I need 2-3 people to help me organize this. I will also need a firm commitment and money paid up front so that we can pay for the camping up front. If you have more than 1 tent great, you will be helping out. I think I camp site can have 2-3 tents.
