If the switch flat out does nothing (no buzzing, clicking, or other reaction from the window motor), it's most likely a dirty switch.

I can confirm that the above works wonders, don't forget to spray the innerds of the window with silicone grease. I tried white lithium before and it started sticking. The silicone will last longer and stays slick to save your motor for longer use.
